I love cinema popcorn, the fresh stuff, I used to make my own popcorn at home then I considered buying a proper popcorn machine that you may see in shopping malls, I soon found out they cost minimum £400. I soon gave up on that idea. Then I saw this mini popcorn maker, I though, Great.! looks like just what I need. It has beautiful retro looks, little light inside and it makes popcorn fresh. So I ordered it. When it got delivered and I unpacked it and I realized it was much smaller than I expected.So anyway I plugged it in and used it. You soon realize that this popcorn maker is really very small. You can only make popcorn ONE scoop at a time using the scoop provided. (To give you an idea; each scoop makes enough popcorn to fill a Large McDonalds drinks cup)... Each time you add the popcorn you need to add a measure of oil, I tried to make two lots of popcorn from one measure of oil, and it didn't work. So the finished popcorn tends to be oily, and as it starts to pop some of the corn kernels fly out of the pot, so you will find that a lot of kernels are wasted before they pop. We are a family of 4 and if I try to make enough popcorn for four I find I end up using a lot of kernels some of which is wasted, and a lot of oil, but worse thing, it takes for ever to make enough popcorn for four people. If you're single this maybe for you, if you have children, you need something bigger.The last issue is cleaning the actual bowl where the popping occurs, Not good design. Dishwasher is out of the question. It needs to be done by hand while ensuring no water gets in to the back of the bowl where the electric cable plugs in. Any water gets in there, and you will have indoor fireworks. So over all having used this unit 5 times now, I feel I can’t be bothered to use it as it feels a big chore trying to make popcorn then the cleaning up etc. I have to be honest and say this purchase was a mistake. I feel I wasted my money on Wishful Thinking.. I should have saved up and invested in a proper size popcorn maker.
