Cooks quickly but not good for simmering. Not very robust.

First impressions were good. Like all induction cookers, this hob is lightning fast (even compared with gas), and can be switched off instantaneously. Unfortunately the power control does not go low enough to simmer, and eventually the glass plate fell off the plastic base, water got in and Bang! it was dead. I suspect that models with a temperature control would be more usable.

excellent little cooker

ive had this for an few months now and never had a problem with it. had to change my pots and pans but was going to do that anyway. really fast to boil water, had a race with my 3kw kettle for a litre of water and there was very little difference. food stops heating as soon as you switch it off or lift the pan off the hob.sometimes its to fast you cant leave food cooking even on minimum, wouldnt risk slow cooking with it if i wasnt in the house.

Good hob but check your pans

Just purchased one of these hobs as a backup to our oil fired cooker, and on pans which are compatible it works very well, getting hot quickly and evenly. However, of our 12 or so existing pans (mainly thick bottomed stainless steel, all types) only 3 turned out to be induction compatible - the hob detects suitable pans and won't activate unless a suitable load is on top. There is little advice on the packaging on choosing correct pans - according to the internet, if they are magnetic it should work but not foolproof.
