HOW TO USE:
1.Prior to Using for the First Time Carefully unpack the appliance and remove all packaging and materials.
2.Set the appliance base on a dry, clean and flat surface.
3.To avoid the build up of unpleasant odors, the appliance should be placed near an open window and
operated a few times at the maximum browning setting without any food but only water.
4.Add 2 cups water to pot, put the pot on the cooktop. Allow the appliance to heat for 10 minutes.
NOTE:
When the appliance is heated for the first time, it may emit slight odor. This is normal and should disappear.
This will not affect the safety of the appliance.

i would have given this a 5 but they sent the wrong one. Still, it performs very well. You can use any pan on it (although it is supposed to be an induction hob). It heats instantly and when the pan is heated the surround remains cool so spilt food does not burn. As I say they sent the wrong one as I wanted the red trim one but instead I got an all black one. This does heat up quickly compared to a normal electric hob but its ceramic not induction, which means that there are no dangers from radiation, either from standing to close to it or by using a metal spoon as there would be with an induction hob. Bought mine elsewhere as the price was 15% lower than the lowest price on Amazon (coincidentally Amazon's selling fees are exactly 15%, on the shipping as well as on the product).
