No thermometers, stirring or expertise needed, Tefal's Jam Maker does all the hard work for you. The speed factor means there's no need to make a mighty batch every time you fancy a jam session, so a handful of jars can be whipped up in no time at all. There are six programmes to choose from: Traditional, which takes about 45 minutes; Vital, for jams that are lower in sugar content; Quick - super-speedy preserves if you use jam sugar with added pectin; Juice Extraction - steams the fruit to remove the juice for jellies (there's no need to strain through a jelly bag); and Desserts - makes wonderfully comforting rice pudding. And the sixth... an auto-clean function that makes washing the non-stick bowl a breeze - just run it under the tap, whilst everything else goes in the dishwasher. Includes 3 x 250ml (8oz) jam jars, ladle and recipe book.

Home Made Jams

Fantastic piece of Kitchen equipment,Make small amounts of jam and marmalade rather than the jars and jars like mother used to make.Recipe book also includes reduced sugar recipes for us diabetics and none of those additives found in mass produced products.

Brilliant gadget

I have owned a Tefal Jam Maker for several years now. It is just wonderful and takes all the sweat out of jam making. The best thing of all is that you can produce red currant or crab apple jelly without the awful business of straining the fruit through a jelly bag.The fact that it produces about 3 to 3.5 lbs at once is an advantage, because nothing is worse than having pounds of jam of the same kind lurking in the back of a cupboard for ages.For raspberries, just wash them and put them in the machine with the requisite amounts of sugar and water and then programme it. It beeps when the fruit has cooked for the right amount of time. If you don't think you have arrived at a set, just let it run for a few more minutes. Stone fruit is also really easy to deal with. You can even programme it on the wash programme to get off most of the gunge, so there is only a minuscule amount of cleaning to do at the end.I recommend it to all my friends who love their home cooking.
