Best cooker I've ever had

I have had this Belling electric cooker for just over 18 months now, and I must say that I am very pleased with it. It is the first Belling product I have ever purchased, after a recommendation, so I wasn't totally sure what to expect.I find that the oven (and top oven) heats very quickly compared to some other cookers. When baking cakes or pies, I have found in the past that some ovens will burn the edges while the centre isn't cooked properly. The oven on this Belling cooker tends to cook things much more evenly, and I must admit that being quite a regular baker, my cakes are much more successful with this than my previous Hotpoint model. The hobs on the top also heat very quickly, although they do take a while to cool down so you must be careful not to burn yourself or set anything on fire as they're still hot even when the redness has faded back to black. As standard with most similar cookers, you're getting two large hobs and two smaller ones. The top surface is incredibly easy to clean with any oven cleaner. The shelves in the oven and grill/top oven slide in and out easily, and also are well made and designed. There are various slots for the shelves, so you can position them on five different levels in the main oven and two different levels in the grill/top oven. There are a total of three shelves provided. The doors on the oven and grill/top oven have a solid glass front and another glass panel behind. The front glass panels can be removed with a screwdriver if you so wish, while the panels behind this just slide in and out. The fan inside the oven seems to work effectively, but you would never really notice it as it's very quiet. I think overall this cooker looks very good, and it is light enough to move around easily should you need to move it. The oven is not enormous by any means, so if you're cooking very large items you should check the dimensions closely before buying.There are a few things that aren't quite perfect. For example, there is no timer so you have to physically go turn the oven or grill off when the desired cooking time is reached. One cooker I had previously had a timer, and I never used it anyway, so this is no big deal in my option. The numbers around the dials on the front of the cooker are not very clear and have probably faded even more since I purchased it. You have to either remember which side (clockwise or anticlockwise) starts 6, 5, 4 as opposed to 1, 2, 3 (for the hobs) or look very closely each time you're using them, which isn't ideal but again for me not a particular problem once you're familiar with how it works. Another very minor issue is that the handles for both the oven and the grill/top oven often become slack and require tightening with a screwdriver every few weeks.All in all, I'm very pleased with this Belling cooker. I've had no problems with it whatsoever, it looks good, works well and I would recommend it to anyone.

The cooker at first seems fine; but once you use the higher temperatures (200 degrees C +)the oven door pops open! I would have expected this to have been a one-off and was able to replace the original with an identical model. Now the replacement has been installed - and exactly the same thing happens. Ths of course renders the cooker unusable!

Door popping

I had exactly the same problem as reviewer G Moore. I didn't buy mine from Amazon, but I think people should know about this "feature"!! It is very difficult to have to hold the door closed while the roasties are cooking!!
